Shark Sailing

in Dreams for Interpretation

I was with a nice shark, sailing a sailboat. He sent me to ride at the tip of the front of the sailboat. To get momentum, the sailboat bent almost in half backwards to move forwards really fast. It was a really exciting ride. To turn, the tip of the boat where I was riding had to go completely underwater to make big turns. I was submerged serval times, but was able to hold on. There were others riding on the boat, but I was the only one who had to go underwater. they didn’t see how I even could have stayed on, but I thought it was fun. Scary at first, like a roller coaster, but fun once I realized I was safe. The sharks protected me. I trusted they wouldn’t do anything to hurt me.

Next thing I remember the first ride was over and the boat was parked in a spot at a marina. Then the sharks got me to drive. I realized the boat was more like a yacht now, but earlier it had a sail. I went up to the top to drive. It was different sailing from the top of the boat compared to the tip. Still fun, but more calm up there.

@Summer Putman I think @Gail and @Ahsahn have done a great job with this dream. At first I was not confident as sharks are normally seen as predators and often negative in a dream. I wasn't certain how the dream could feel so good, with the "sharks" being the ones protecting and giving the guidance. Then I realized that shark could be an expert in a field (like the tv show Shark Tank) and what a positive symbol it could be. Great illustration of how a symbol cannot be assumed to be always negative or positive.

I am a trainee in the Dream Stories Interpretation Class and I am interpreting your dream to complete one of my assignments.

I believe you are being called to a big rush of new experience/ learning, but you will be safe with a guide who is totally in his/her element. Sometimes you will feel that you are "in it over your head" but you will learn to relish the experience!

This season is in turn preparing you to take responsibility related to what you learned with the shark.
