A friend of mine had a dream she would like interpreted please: It was night. Hovering in the air in front of her was giant pyramid, like the one at Giza Egypt. As I flew under it, I noticed 5 square pillars under the pyramid. There was wild flashing lighting and thunder. I sensed the Lord's voice in the thunder, but could not tell what He was saying. It felt ominous.

I totally agree on the part that you mentioned that God is inviting the dreamer to a closer relationship with Him in this time of turmoil. As I read your interpretation, the Holy Spirit led me to be reminded that the strongest foundation stems from God and not earthly powers.
Perhaps you can further encourage the dreamer by adding that God is opening up the dreamer's eyes to see and listen from a bigger (God's) perspective, and not from the world perspective. And also, to not be distracted by noises of the world.

A phrase that come to mind about your friend is that she/he (I’ll just pick “she” from here on) may be in the world but not of the world. I think the giant pyramid stands for a civilization, like a combination of nations in this global world, and while it’s hovering, she could see the foundations underneath that civilization. The five square pillars underneath the giant pyramid could be the big 5 countries or just earthly humanly foundations. Psalm 94:7 talks about how people in the world say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.” And God is saying that He indeed judges (lightning and thunder). I think it’s beautiful that your friend felt God’s voice in the thunder. I sense God is inviting her to an even closer relationship with Him because He wants to reveal His heart and His words to her in this time of confusion, turmoil etc in the world.
