In this dream, my wife and I were out of town and trying to get home. Someone kindly loaned us their semi-truck-and-trailer. It was white. I was driving, though it was a struggle to operate it. I struggled with steering, turning, braking, shifting and stopping. We finally entered a city, and after passing through a residential area, we came into the downtown area. My wife got out in order to do some errands, and I said I’d call her so we could meet up.
I drove further into the urban area where there were some run down and empty buildings. One building, several stories high—had a ground floor which was open on one side with a large open space inside. I slowed to a stop and got out, leaving the semi in the alley, where it rolled on a bit as I didn’t know how to park the truck.
I walked into the open space of the building and was looking around when a young man carrying a Bible approached me, very friendly like, and offered to help. He seemed to have just gotten out of a church service. Without asking me what sort of help we needed he gathered some of his friends together, and they put together a church service there in the open space of the derelict building—with several dozen people seated in chairs. It wasn’t what we needed. What we needed was help in getting home and in how to operate the truck.
So then he went up to the people leading the church service and told someone of our predicament. They then had a planning meeting to figure out how to help us. They still hadn’t asked us what we needed or how they could help. I got a bit anxious and frustrated. I needed to call my wife, but needed to charge my phone in order to use it. Meanwhile, the church people were still running around devising a plan.
With the help of a nice old man, I was able to turn the semi-truck around, park it off and shut off the engine. (It had rolled up against a wall and stopped.) Then the old man and I both plugged our phones into the dashboard to charge them (the cords were white).
The young man from earlier sent someone over to tell me they had come up with a plan to help us, but it still wasn’t what we needed. I was able to explain what was going on, and he finally listened.
