My nightmares have always had a recurring theme. I will go years without having one but for the last 4-6 weeks they are back. I am always being chased by someone. Sometimes there is a weapon involved, a gun or a knife. And sometimes, I also have a weapon. I am often running with my kids, who are adults now, but in the dream they are children. Sometimes my husband is with me. This latest set of nightmares have had my father in them, who died 20 years ago. He is never part of the scary part and never has a major part in the dream, he is just there. In the dreams I am terrified and sometimes trying to scream but can't.

Please leave a comment to let them know how they did after you read their interpretation.
Dreams posted to the forum will be interpreted by students. They will likely accumulate during breaks between classes, so please keep this in mind. Remember most interpretations are provided by students and they are learning what they are doing. Moderators will often have more seasoned interpretations when they do comment on a dream. A moderator often responds to Level 1 student interpretations and comments when necessary for Level 2 students. Level 3 students will post interpretations as student moderators.
We have been unable to get the flood of spam on the forum under control. It appears we are under direct cyber attack. As a result, we will be closing the forum in the near future and reopening it in a new format. If you have a dream that has not yet been interpreted (and we know there are a lot) please copy it in preparation of posting on the new forum site. We apologize for the difficulty this has caused over the last few months.

It is difficult if not impossible to interpret a range of dreams without a specific one to go over. In general these dreams relate to an attack by the enemy (probably fear related). They are designed in part to close down your dream life and prevent you from hearing from God in this fashion. It is likely that these particular dreams relate to something that occurred when you children were smaller and your father was alive. If you look back to your life and find something from that time frame that is still bothering you or weighing you down, it is likely that this is what God is wanting you to address and overcome.
There are several strategies to overcome night terrors such as this, but one of the ones I find most helpful is to play the scripture at a very low level as you are going to sleep. Not loud enough to keep you awake and just loud enough to hear when you concentrate. This helps call your attention to the Word of God and provides a guard as you sleep.
